antiques Booth space cats decor DIY Goodwill thrift stores

Why are there so many cats at Goodwill?

Happy Monday!

First thing I heard on the news this morning was how on the first Monday after daylight savings there is a significant increase in the amount of car accidents and heart attacks. This is why I hate the news. But on a positive note….we will have extended amounts of sunshine while these things are happening.

I’m getting ready to open a booth at an antique store in Pendleton, Indiana so I’ve been spending a lot of time going to the many Goodwill stores in our area.

I’ve noticed a trend that is pretty alarming.

CATS. They are everywhere. Not real ones. But creepy, weird cat decor. Seriously, take a look at the gallery below. And these are just a few. I could have kept taking pictures but I was starting to get a few looks as I propped up the cat item and giggled as I snapped away with my smart phone.

Kind of like trying to find the positive spin on the news this morning…I guess the positive spin on the many cat items available at Goodwill is that they are no longer hanging in someone’s house.

Till the next time,
Julie

BTW….I really don’t mind cats although sometimes they scare me. I’m sure my fear has nothing to do with the fact that in 7th grade I picked a cat up off a shelf and went to put it on my head thinking it was one of those Daniel Boone hats, only to be surprised by the hat’s hissing and wiggling out of my hands.

Oh yeah, and my neighbor’s three cats that lived right next door to us while I was growing up. Whenever my neighbors went on vacation, my sister’s and I would feed the 3 cats and clean their litter boxes. Each time we entered the house the cats would be hiding in different spots and then spring out at us as we made our way to their litter box in the basement. They were creepy. A little cute. But mostly creepy.

Other than that, I just love cats.
