Why you should embrace the fact that your children will damage your furniture.

My children grew up on a chair. No really. Anytime they wanted to sit they would sit together on one of Mommy’s “pretty chairs”.

They’d watch cartoons from Mommy’s “pretty chair”. Put their feet on Mommy’s “pretty chair”. I once found them eating CHEETOS on Mommy’s “pretty chair”.  You get where I’m going with this, don’t you?

The chairs needed a makeover. BIG TIME.  The fabric once new and colorful was now stained, faded and beyond any kind of cleaning measure.

It only took me four years to get around to it! But I finally picked a fabric and had a friend do the upholstery.

Now my kids are too big to sit in the chair together (sigh). But my friend Missy saved some of the old fabric and made two pillows for me. Such a sweet idea!

I just love the way it looks now. It’s a fun print (animal is classic) and a neutral so it gets along with most colors and I can move it into any room of the house.

I asked my kids what they thought. “Uh, it’s ok,” they said. Ok!!!! It’s adorable.  Feel how soft it is.

“Can we sit on it?,” they asked.

“Uh??? Sure,” I said. What’s the worst that can happen…..cheetos?

Savor the moments friends it goes way too fast.
